AI Labeling

Full transparency at Panda Pictures: Here is how we label AI-generated and enhanced content. Learn all about our AI Generated and AI Enhanced labels.

Absolute transparency for new visual worlds

Artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing film and video production. At Panda Pictures, we use this technology extensively to push visual boundaries and implement entirely new creative approaches for you. To ensure you always know exactly what was created on set and where an algorithm was involved, we have developed a crystal-clear labeling system. We are not only meeting legal requirements but are consciously going a significant step further. Here, you can find out how we practice transparency on our website.

Why we label AI content

According to the European AI Act , certain AI-generated content—so-called deepfakes —must be clearly identifiable as such. For us, however, this is not a burdensome chore. We consider it a matter of course to be as transparent as possible with our visitors.

You can already find many of our AI cases in our detailed portfolio under the tag "Full AI / AI Hybrid", where we document our work with AI in detail. We also make no secret of the technology on the subpages AI Hybrid and Full AI regarding our specific AI services. To remove any doubt, we are now labeling every single page and image where AI was involved. We are proud of our AI workflows and want to openly show you what is possible.

Our system: AI Generated vs. AI Enhanced

To ensure you can see at a glance to what extent artificial intelligence was used, we use two different categories in the displayed menu:

AI GENERATED

We use this label for photorealistic images and videos that were created entirely or largely by artificial intelligence. These are the exact types of content classified by law as potential deepfakes, as they could be mistaken for real camera footage at first glance.

AI ENHANCED

Here, we work with real assets. This could be client-provided materials, footage we have filmed ourselves, or manually created 2D graphics that we have simply expanded or "brought to life" using AI. A good example is fictional elements for book trailers or games. Legally, these are generally not considered deepfakes because their fictional nature is obvious. We still label these pages as "AI Enhanced" because we want to be completely transparent with you about our production process.

How to find the labels on our website

We have designed the system to be as simple and clear as possible for you. It operates on two levels:

Page level: In our overlay menu, you will immediately see an icon that categorizes the entire page. A clear hierarchy applies: as soon as even a single image on the page is completely AI-generated, the menu displays the "AI Generated" icon. If the page contains only enhanced real assets, you will see the "AI Enhanced" icon instead.

Image level: Every affected image or video features a subtle "AI" icon directly in the corner. At this level, we forgo the distinction between generated and enhanced to keep the design clean while ensuring you are still immediately informed.

We love the creative possibilities of artificial intelligence and are happy to integrate it into our productions upon request. At the same time, we respect you as a viewer. With our labeling system, we aren't hiding behind algorithms; instead, we are making them a visible part of our craft at Panda Pictures.
