CHALLENGE

The new challenges facing SMEs.

Small and medium-sized enterprises face unique challenges when using motion design, or are realizing for the first time the need to incorporate film production.

Tradition and innovation define the SME sector. Some companies are global market leaders in their niche or hidden champions, yet remain unknown beyond their own region. There is no shortage of opportunities for content. A variety of relevant topics need to be communicated to customers, applicants, local authorities, trade fairs, and the general public. But how do you reach your target audience effectively? Often, there is a lack of time and budget to implement all these topics appropriately. In-house, there is often a shortage of manpower and expertise to produce high-quality films on time or to cover topics over a longer period. This makes having a competent film partner by your side all the more important. Here you will find some challenges that our clients have successfully overcome using motion design. What are your current challenges?

Challenges:

  • Explain products and services simply
  • Acquire new customers and increase visibility
  • Attract and retain skilled workers
  • Facilitate communication in distributed teams
  • Improve employee training and knowledge transfer
  • Relieve and improve customer service
  • Automate sales and lead generation
  • Build trust and credibility
  • Strengthen local and regional branding

SOLUTION

AND ACTION! FOR SMES.

The SME sector offers a multitude of topics. The most obvious film projects currently are recruitment and image films for SMEs, which are the right approach for a single-film strategy.

However, you should also consider other targeted and diverse film formats. The effort and production time for each individual film are often significantly lower, allowing for more frequent releases. This way, you can reach your target audience faster and stay more up-to-date with your films. This is exactly the right strategy, especially for social media.
‍

Partnering with a film production company allows a well-coordinated team to plan and execute videos on demand over an extended period. Whether it’s project or case study films, holiday videos, event coverage, product launches, or simply a statement or interview—you provide the topic, and we provide the film. In a long-term partnership, we can also take over content creation by independently proposing and developing new concepts.

‍
If you want your message to truly resonate with your target audience, you need a strategic approach that always includes time for developing creative ideas, cost-effective solutions, and the right formats.

FAQ

Which challenges do you solve for SMEs with moving image / film?

The challenges our SME clients face are diverse. In many areas, moving image is an important building block. Of course there is still classic demand for an image film, but today very different moving-image strategies are used for different challenges. Typical tasks could be: explaining products and services simply; acquiring new customers and increasing visibility; attracting and retaining skilled workers; improving employee training and knowledge transfer; relieving and improving after-sales and customer service; building trust and credibility; or strengthening local and regional branding. An extra challenge is that increasingly more and more channels  need to be served, and content production often overloads internal teams on capacity. We create relief — both for the volume of work and for specialist topics. We’re happy to clarify in a conversation what your specific challenges are and which moving-image strategy is most effective for them.

Is a single recruitment or image film still enough — or do you need a content system for SMEs?

Recruitment and image films are currently often the most obvious starting points and fit a single-film strategy. For some companies that is still enough. For a growing share of SMEs, though, it pays to also think in further targeted formats: effort and production time per film are often lower — and you can reach the audience more regularly and more up to date. That is especially the right strategy for social media. With a film production as partner, you plan videos on demand over a longer period: e.g. project or case-study films, holiday videos, event films, product or launch films, statements or interviews. Our content system provides the resources you need to serve your channels regularly at the frequency you want.

‍

What does film production for SMEs cost?

Costs can vary widely depending on the format you want.  We always optimise the strategy with you so it fits your budget. With different formats, the required frequency, and the right channels, we have many levers to develop the optimal strategy for you. And even if you only want to produce a single film, there are levers inside the project: an elaborate narrative image film can be planned in a high-effort way — many actors, locations, special effects, animation and so on — or it can be kept documentary and shot at your site with your employees. Content productions involve even less effort per piece and gain extra synergies from a larger number of videos. For rough orientation you can budget around €5,000 for simpler projects up to around €50,000 for larger ones — ambitious high-end projects can go higher still. With our content system, cost per social-media video can also be steered toward around €500. We tune the concrete frame to you and your goals.
