September was a golden month for Panda Pictures.
Our film BMW i3 EfficientDynamics “Sumo” earned us two outstanding awards. The film is a commercial for BMW AG. For the shoot, two sumo wrestlers were flown into Germany. The humorous film follows the pair through their daily lives. Unfortunately, almost nothing can withstand these lovable muscle-bound men: door frames, chairs, and even glasses in a restaurant break at their slightest touch. Only the sleek and sturdy BMW i3 meets the sumo wrestlers' needs, perfectly embodying BMW's EfficientDynamics strategy: maximum performance, minimum consumption. Panda Pictures was also commissioned by BMW for the creative concept. The core idea for the film came from our Executive Producer, Daniel Philipp. It was then further developed in collaboration with director Ron Eichhorn, who was also responsible for the production.
Gold and silver trophies for Panda Pictures
An international jury awarded us the "OttoCar" prize for the film at AutoVision 2017 in the category Product Films: Passenger Cars. At the world's largest automotive exhibition, the IAA , our Producer and Executive Sales Manager for Frankfurt and the surrounding area, Jürgen Jeutter, accepted the silver trophy on September 14, 2017, in Frankfurt am Main.
Last Friday, our film earned us some more accolades in Cannes. Out of nearly 1,000 entries across 41 categories, it was one of the few to impress at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards 2017. In the Marketing Films – B2C category, we won one of the coveted Gold Dolphin trophies.
We are incredibly proud of the entire team and would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support and collaboration. We also thank BMW AG for the trust they have placed in us for many years.
