ForCYCLE Technikum Project Consortium
Research made accessible: As part of a joint commission alongside the Resource Efficiency Award, we visually distilled five innovative projects from the ForCYCLE technical center for the LfU.
Challenge
The ForCYCLE technical center project network is implemented by the Bavarian Environment Agency (LfU) . In five specialized projects, researchers from universities work closely with industry partners to further develop climate-friendly circular technologies and production processes. The project network's primary goal is to advance a resource-efficient and environmentally friendly circular economy using innovative future technologies. What makes this video productionunique? It was commissioned as a major joint project alongside the films for the 2025 Bavarian Resource Efficiency Award.
Our challenge was to communicate highly complex scientific projects to a broad audience in a way that was concise, clear, and practical. Here, too, the focus was on a clear, science-journalism approach without any promotional tone. We planned shoots at various locations in Bavaria, including the University of Augsburg, TH Ingolstadt, Munich University of Applied Sciences, and TH Würzburg-Schweinfurt. For each of the five projects, we needed a 90-second long version and a 30-second social media cut.
Solution
Just as with the Resource Efficiency Award, we relied on streamlined, client-focused project management for this film production . A dedicated producer guided the LfU through every phase. To handle the logistics of the five different university and corporate sites efficiently, we bundled the shoot days and optimized the travel route to save as much time as possible. Thanks to pre-filled briefing forms, we knew exactly what mattered for each research topic and which questions needed to be asked.
On-site, our cameraman then conducted the targeted Interviews with the scientists while simultaneously capturing relevant reenactments to visually support the theoretical approaches. In the editing process , we seamlessly integrated the soundbites and video footage, complemented by a musical score. The final result: ten excellent videos (five long and five short versions) that prove just how exciting science can be.
