Welcome to our first #FlashbackFriday post! In this series, we’ll be revisiting past projects and taking a trip down memory lane.
We’re kicking things off with a project from the summer of 2015. Here, Panda Pictures film production produced a total of seven commercials in record time over just five shooting days as web content for BMW.
Equipped with everything the film industry has to offer, these engaging spots focusing on ConnectedDrive and EfficientDynamics were brought to life in just a few weeks.
EfficientDynamics is a BMW strategy aimed at achieving minimal consumption while maintaining maximum performance. BMW’s ConnectedDrive on the other hand, represents the connectivity between the vehicle, the driver, and the outside world. This is designed to provide greater comfort, safety, and entertainment in equal measure. True to the BMW brand, the Sheer Driving Pleasure plays a key role in both concepts. Accordingly, the various spots were crafted with a sense of ease and plenty of humor.
Our producers managed, planned, and organized the project. This involved assembling the creative team and set crew, scouting locations, and holding casting calls for the actors.
In the end, a total of 40 actors were needed. We were looking for a wide variety of characters, ranging from babies and children to demanding in-laws. We even brought in two real sumo wrestlers flown in:
The two heavyweights from this BMW i3 commercial probably aren't worried about getting the perfect beach body, because one thing is for sure: these powerhouses have more than enough muscle. At least, if you believe this commercial. The two likable sumo wrestlers accidentally tear our entire location apart. Neither the faucet, nor the chairs or glasses are safe from them. Luckily, there’s a sturdy car that can handle such magnificent specimens. Despite all the "shards" and "broken doors," we had a lot of fun during the shoot!

The variety of the films shows that we shot during the day and at night, at nine different locations, and in the studio. We think the result is a collection of attractive driving and exterior shots combined with charming performance scenes.
