To mark HAWE Hydraulik’s 75th anniversary, we created a gripping video production. In 90 seconds, history comes to life – fast-paced and emotional.
Challenge
Imagine a global player like HAWE Hydraulik celebrating its 75th anniversary – that naturally calls for a very special look back. The brief was clear: create a 90-second historical clip that captures the company’s impressive success story. Shortly after the Second World War, two chess-playing friends started out in a Munich backyard with a small workshop. Through ingenuity, courage, and a keen sense for the industry, they grew into a global specialist.
When you think of historical retrospectives, you might fear dry facts and endless floods of data. The client was determined to avoid exactly that image for this video production. The original plan was to create a captivating opening film for the big anniversary celebration that would work just as well in their global branches and online. The clear goal: an emotional, dynamic clip that focuses entirely on smart inventors, strong ideas, and the brand’s pure power of innovation.
Solution
To make this spirit tangible, we dove deep into the archives as a film production team and unearthed some real treasures. We found early design sketches, historical footage, and wonderful snapshots of employees celebrating company parties over the decades. To give the film a modern, driving force, we seamlessly wove this nostalgic archive material with high-quality stock footage and brand-new sequences from the plant in Kaufbeuren.
On set, our camera operators captured the high-tech processes using a special Laowa 24mm Macro Probe lens. We visually contrasted these fascinating macro shots with sweeping wide shots of the modern production halls. In post-production, we brought the history to life through fast cuts and graphic transitions, making the rapid passage of time palpable for you as the viewer. Rounded off by a striking voiceover, the finished film confidently guides you through the decades. The final outcome is a compelling 90-second visual collage that is informative, entertaining, and visually stunning.
