What does happiness mean?
"What is happiness?" is an interesting question that we answered in the new brand film for our client, the "Bavarian Adult Education Association."
Challenge
"This is who we are" is the title of the new brand film for the Bavarian Adult Education Association. In collaboration with them, we produced an emotional brand film exploring the question, "What does happiness mean to us?" The film gets to the heart of this very question. Happiness means growing, gaining experience, building friendships, and learning new things throughout life. These are the exact values represented by the VHS in its courses. Through its broad and diverse range of offerings, the adult education center gives people the chance to think outside the box and step outside their comfort zones. By learning new skills and discovering new cultures, they can find the happiness they are looking for. From theoretical courses like language classes or how to file a tax return, to pottery and blacksmithing workshops—the spectrum of offerings is vast. Happiness is a topic with an emotional connection for many, which is why the film turned out to be so moving.
Solution
The film was shot over two days at two different adult education center locations in Munich. To capture a wide variety of scenes within this short timeframe, several rooms were used multiple times and redecorated accordingly. This allowed us to ensure that the diversity of the Bavarian Adult Education Association was truly reflected. What we particularly love is the fact that all the people featured in the brand film are volunteer instructors and participants from various adult education courses. From the yogis in the yoga class and language students to the potters, ballet dancers, violinists, and painters—everyone is a course participant and an active member of the classes shown. The diversity that the adult education center wanted to showcase in its brand film is captured perfectly, giving the entire piece a very personal, emotional touch.
