Produced by Panda Pictures, this brand film for and with Rauscher Driving School combines interview segments with dynamic driving footage.
Challenge
For many, driving means freedom and independence. It’s the ability to decide your own path, where to go, and when to get there. Consequently, getting a driver's license is a major step toward adulthood. Passing the driving test is a true milestone in a young person's life.
Rauscher Driving School has been guiding young people along this path for two generations, helping them get on the road quickly and safely. With passion and just as much love for driving as his students, Mr. Rauscher brings out the best in everyone he teaches. He mentors and supports his students from start to finish, sharing his joy of driving every step of the way.
We wanted to capture this exact passion and joy in our brand film for the school and convey it to the audience. From our base in Stuttgart, we visited Mr. Rauscher at his school, where he not only shared his passion and motivation for the job but also gave us a look into how his driving lessons work. The interviews we conducted were designed to highlight the personal connection and feel completely authentic. Mr. Rauscher told us about his approach to the work, how much the shared experiences and milestones with his students mean to him, and how he manages to live out and share his own love for driving.
Solution
In this brand film , we intentionally chose not to include any theoretical content. Instead, we wanted to focus entirely on authentic, personal connection and impress with great visuals. For this reason, in addition to the interview, we captured dynamic driving footage of Mr. Rauscher and his students in cars and on motorcycles. We overlaid these cutaway shots with the interview segments to visually convey the feeling of freedom and the passion for driving.
The dynamic footage needed to be edited with a fast, cool pace to stay on theme. At the same time, we didn't want to lose the focus on the driving school aspect, so we made sure the cuts weren't too frantic. In our in-house post-production , our editor skillfully used speed ramps for these transitions to create the perfect balance between professional instruction and the fun of driving. Backed by powerful music and the statements Thanks to Mr. Rauscher, we were able to produce such a particularly high-contrast and dynamic image film.
